If your house is anything like ours right now, the summer routine is in full effect (which usually means a mix of staying cool inside and finding quick evening outings to burn off extra energy).

The local calendar is particularly good over the next few days. You can catch classic cars at the Fountains, take the family to a free outdoor screening of Finding Nemo, or hit a beer fest in Lincoln. We gathered all the details below so you can plan your week in about two minutes flat.

Downtown Roseville’s evening shuttle is back

The Gist: Downtown Roseville’s EShuttle has returned for the summer season. The service is running Friday and Saturday nights, along with special event days such as Downtown Tuesday Nights and other city events.
Why It Matters: Parking can be the least fun part of a downtown plan. A free shuttle makes it easier to visit restaurants, events, and shops without circling the same few blocks.
Rocklin volunteers are gearing up for 400,000 meals
The Gist: Thousands of volunteers are expected to gather at Jessup University in Rocklin this September for the 16th annual Placer Feed My Starving Children MobilePack. The goal is to pack more than 400,000 meals for children facing hunger around the world.
Why It Matters: This is a big local service effort with a global reach. It also gives families, students, churches, businesses, and neighbors a practical way to help together.
What's Next: The MobilePack is scheduled for Sept. 17 through Sept. 19.

A fresh downtown breakfast stop

105 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA
The Daily Nosh is one of the newest reasons to make a Vernon Street morning happen. The downtown Roseville eatery opened this summer with breakfast, lunch, baked goods, coffee, mocktails, craft cocktails, and the kind of indoor-outdoor setup that works nicely when you want something more relaxed than a quick grab-and-go.
The menu leans into familiar comfort with a little polish, including scratch-made breakfast and lunch classics, sweet treats, and drinks that make it feel like a real sit-down pause. It is a good one to remember for a weekday meeting, a slower brunch, or a downtown stop before errands take over.

Supplies for the creative pile

6827 Lonetree Blvd. #105, Rocklin, CA
ReCreate is the kind of Rocklin that makes you look at leftover materials differently. The nonprofit creative reuse store collects donated supplies, then gives them a second life through art materials, maker projects, education, and community creativity.
You might find fabric, paper, beads, office supplies, containers, craft materials, or the odd little thing that suddenly becomes perfect for a project. It is practical, affordable, and a little treasure-huntish, especially if your house has kids, hobbies, classrooms, or one too many unfinished ideas.
Skip the Typical Resort This Summer. Stay in a Centuries-Old Sicilian Village Instead.
Casa Gratteri offers beautifully restored homes in Gratteri, a hidden mountain town in Sicily with sweeping views, deep history, and zero crowds. Full concierge service, a private chef on request, and modern finishes throughout. This is the kind of trip people talk about for the rest of their lives.
