We have been doing some thinking about how fast our community is changing and growing lately. It seems like there is always a new development talk or a plan in the works, and right now Lincoln is looking for some real resident feedback on our local water future. It might not sound as exciting as a Friday night rock show, but it is the kind of stuff that matters when the dry years roll around.

If you prefer your news with a side of fun, keep scrolling. We have a massive list of local events for you today, including a Disney fireworks night at McBean Stadium and a great summer camp option for the creative kids in your house.

Summer Bus Pass for Kids Is Back, Just $10

The Gist: Roseville's Summer Youth Bus Pass goes on sale May 1, giving elementary through high school students unlimited rides on Roseville Transit and Placer County Transit local routes from June 1 through August 31. No student ID required.
Why It Matters: Ten bucks gets your kid a whole summer of independence, whether it's a job, the movies, or just getting to the park, without you playing chauffeur.
Lincoln Wants Your Take on the City's Water Future
The Gist: Lincoln is updating its Urban Water Management Plan and Water Shortage Contingency Plan, which guide how the City handles supply, demand, conservation, and droughts. Draft documents are available May 12 online at lincolnca.gov and in person at City Hall and Twelve Bridges Library.
Why It Matters: These plans shape what happens to your tap water during dry years, and residents have a real shot at influencing them.

A Roseville taco stop with range

1805 Cirby Way, Roseville, CA
Nixtaco is one of those places that long ago stopped being just a casual taco run. Food & Wine once called it one of America’s best taquerias, and the write-up makes it pretty clear why, from heirloom corn tortillas to a menu that moves well beyond the usual defaults.
The dishes that jump off the page are the kind that make a detour feel justified. Pork belly with star anise, grilled octopus, chilaquiles rojos, machacado con huevo, and house tacos built around northern Mexican flavors give the place a little more range than the average neighborhood taqueria.
It feels like a good fit for Roseville too, something polished and memorable without trying too hard to look like a “special occasion” place.

Where Roseville's Story Runs Deep

1970 Johnson Ranch Drive, Roseville, CA
Tucked off Johnson Ranch Drive, the Maidu Museum & Historic Site sits on an ancient Nisenan Maidu village, with exhibits inside and a trail outside that winds past bedrock mortar holes and rock art going back thousands of years.
The city's been spotlighting Summer Fun events here lately, which feels like a good nudge. Bring the kids, wander solo, or just slow down and take in a side of Roseville you don't usually see.
Skip the Typical Resort This Summer. Stay in a Centuries-Old Sicilian Village Instead.
Casa Gratteri offers beautifully restored homes in Gratteri, a hidden mountain town in Sicily with sweeping views, deep history, and zero crowds. Full concierge service, a private chef on request, and modern finishes throughout. This is the kind of trip people talk about for the rest of their lives.
