It really feels like the summer groove has officially kicked in around town. The evenings are staying warm just long enough for outdoor music, and my calendar is already filling up faster than I can keep track of. Last weekend was wild if you caught the action over at the All American Speedway, because there is nothing quite like local racing to bring the neighborhood together.

This week we have a packed lineup of events, from classic car shows to farm days for the little ones. Grab a cold drink and let's check out what is happening right in our backyard.

Roseville Kids Get a Real-Deal Fire Academy Experience

The Gist: Nearly 90 middle schoolers are spending the week at the Roseville Fire Training Center, learning rappelling, ladder climbing, burn room drills, and water rescue alongside actual fire service mentors. The camp has been running for nearly 30 years and is now nearly half girls.
Why It Matters: Programs like this build real skills and confidence in local kids while planting seeds for future emergency responders right here in our community.
What's Next: Thursday's session moves to Folsom Lake for hands-on water emergency training.
Roseville's Edge of Summer Race Night Brought the Heat
The Gist: All American Speedway's Edge of Summer event drew a packed night of NASCAR and INEX racing last Saturday, headlined by the chaotic Drag-a-Boat race, where competitors dragged boats around the track for 15 laps chasing a $1,000 prize and a $250 "Master of Disaster" award. Twin 40-lap Late Model features, Modified, Street Stock, and Mini Stock classes rounded out the card.
Why It Matters: Local drivers from Roseville, Rocklin, Auburn, and beyond compete regularly at All American Speedway, making it a true regional racing hub.

Wood-fired pizza with a story

5080 Foothills Boulevard, Suite 5, Roseville, CA
Flour Dust Pizza Company has the kind of origin story that makes the food feel even more personal. Pizzaiolo Mano started by building his own backyard pizza oven with help from his dad, then trained in Florence, Italy, before turning Flour Dust into a full Roseville restaurant.
The menu leans into the kind of pizzas and sides that make a table go quiet for a second. The Margherita, KB Special, Ali Special, hand-pulled mozzarella, beet salad, apple salad, spicy Caesar, and chicken pocket all show up across the restaurant’s own site, which gives you a good sense of the range.
It feels like a cozy neighborhood spot with a little more craft behind it than your usual weeknight pizza run.

A weekend wander with history

1551 Vineyard Road, Roseville, CA
Denio’s Roseville Farmers Market & Swap Meet is one of those places that still feels like its own little world. It has the fruit-and-vegetable market, the swap meet browsing, the food stands, the bargain-hunting energy, and the kind of weekend crowd that makes it feel less like an errand and more like an outing.
The market is open every weekend, with Friday farmers market hours plus longer Saturday and Sunday shopping. You can go in with a list or no plan at all, which is probably the better way to do it.
It is a Roseville staple for a reason. Some places are about buying something. Denio’s is about wandering until something catches your eye.
Skip the Typical Resort This Summer. Stay in a Centuries-Old Sicilian Village Instead.
Casa Gratteri offers beautifully restored homes in Gratteri, a hidden mountain town in Sicily with sweeping views, deep history, and zero crowds. Full concierge service, a private chef on request, and modern finishes throughout. This is the kind of trip people talk about for the rest of their lives.
