A new Dry Creek trail stretch is opening in Roseville

The Gist: Roseville is opening the new Dry Creek Greenway East Trail, adding another piece to the city’s growing trail network and giving residents a new route for walking, biking, and neighborhood access. The grand opening is set for April 25, with the city promoting the project as a fresh connection point for outdoor recreation and local mobility.

Why It Matters: This is the kind of project people actually use. It makes everyday movement easier, adds more usable green space, and gives nearby neighborhoods one more reason to stay local instead of getting in the car.

What's Next: The public grand opening is scheduled for April 25.

Roseville Parkway is lined up for major improvements

The Gist: Roseville says the first phase of improvements along Roseville Parkway is expected to begin in summer 2026, focusing on the corridor between Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Creekside Ridge Drive. Phase 1 is set to include work at the Pleasant Grove and Galleria intersections, two spots many locals already know can get backed up.

Why It Matters: For anyone who spends time around west Roseville, the Galleria, or that stretch of Parkway during busy hours, this is a practical quality-of-life story. Better traffic flow and safer intersections are not flashy, but they matter fast once construction turns into finished pavement.

What's Next: The city says Phase 1 construction is expected to start this summer.

Peruvian comfort on Douglas

1850 Douglas Blvd #600, Roseville, CA

La Huaca Peruvian Cuisine feels like the sort of place you pick for one dish and then end up talking about the whole meal on the drive home. It is tucked into the Douglas corridor in Roseville, and the menu leans into classic Peruvian flavors with a polished but easygoing dinner-room feel.

The standouts are the kind you order for the table and regret not doubling. Their ceviche is one of the signatures, the lomo saltado brings the expected savory comfort, and dishes like jalea mixta and pescado a lo macho give you a good reason to come hungry and stay curious.

It is a strong pick when you want something that feels a little different from the usual weeknight rotation, but still warm and familiar once the plates hit the table.

A Vernon Street creative anchor

405 Vernon Street, Suite 100, Roseville, CA

Blue Line Arts is one of those places that quietly makes downtown Roseville feel more like itself. The nonprofit gallery and arts center has been part of the local arts scene for decades, and today it brings together rotating exhibitions, classes, artist opportunities, and public-facing programs in a space that feels welcoming whether you are a regular or just wandering in for the first time.

There is always something to actually look at or do here, not just walls to admire from a distance. Exhibitions, youth programs, workshops, and community events all run through the space, which makes it easy to turn a Vernon Street stop into a real afternoon outing.

It also helps that the organization has real local roots, going back to 1966 before growing into its current downtown home. That history shows up in the way the place still feels tied to the neighborhood, not dropped into it.
